Biraders Hari Saloun

Our shop is right in the middle of the Bhaji Mandai in Yerwada. If you know that area, you know how busy it gets with all the vegetable sellers and people haggling over prices. Biraders Hari Saloun is just a simple room with a door that stays open all day. The smell of fresh coriander and onions drifts in from the market stalls outside. It’s a loud place, with people shouting and trucks unloading crates, but we’re used to it. We open up early, usually around the same time the market starts getting crowded. Most of our customers are the vendors themselves or people who finished their shopping and want a quick shave before heading home. There are three chairs, and the mirrors are a bit spotted with age. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a picture or two. The floor is cement, which makes it easy to sweep. Sometimes when it rains, the water splashes in from the street, so we have to keep a mop handy. It’s a very basic setup, and we don't try to be anything else. People come here because it’s convenient and they know us. We’ve been part of this market scene for a long time. It’s a bit chaotic with the crowd outside, but inside the shop, we just focus on the hair and the conversation. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the fan is always running.
