We are over here at Yelwadi in the Khed area of Pune. The office is at G.No.486. It’s a group of us who are farmers working together under the name Bhumai Organic Farmers Producer Company. Most days are spent dealing with the soil and making sure things are growing right. Being in the 410501 zip code area means we are right in the heart of the local farming belt. We don't have fancy offices or anything like that. It’s just a place where we get the work done. The weather around Khed dictates most of our schedule. If it rains, we’re busy, if it’s dry, we’re still busy. We started this because we wanted a way to manage our produce as a group. It’s not always easy, and sometimes the paperwork is a bit much, but we keep at it. People from the nearby villages often drop by for a chat or to see what we are up to. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The address is easy to find if you know the Yelwadi area well enough. We just focus on organic methods because that’s what we know from our parents and grandparents. There isn’t much to say other than we are just a bunch of local people trying to make a living off the land here in Pune district. We handle everything ourselves from this little spot. It’s dusty sometimes, and loud with the tractors, but it's home for us and our work. We just keep going one day at a time.
