We are up in Pokhari, which is in the Ambegaon Taluka. Our main spot is at Anaji Devaji Shingade’s house, number 345. We focus a lot on organic stuff and things we gather from the forest, what we call vanopaj. It’s a bit different than just regular farming. We have a lot of respect for the hills around here. The company was started because we wanted to keep the old ways of growing things but also find a way to sell them properly to people in the towns. It’s not a big factory. It’s just us processing things by hand mostly. We have a few rooms used for storage and sorting. The air is good here but the work is tiring. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or machines. We rely on what we know about the plants and the seasons. People from the village help out when they can. We don’t spend money on advertising. Most people find out about us by word of mouth. When you come to Pokhari, you can see how we live and work. It’s very basic and honest. We just want to sell good, natural products without all the chemicals people use now. It’s a slow process sometimes. The paperwork takes time because we aren't used to it, but we get it done. It’s our way of keeping the community going.
