We are situated right at Bharat Mata Chowk on Raigad Road. If you know where the Raigad Bus Stand is, we are just a stone's throw away from there. It’s a very active part of the neighborhood, so there is always someone passing by. Balaji Steel has been a fixture here for some time. Our shop is filled with various steel products, and it can get a little cramped when a new shipment arrives. We spend a lot of our time manually moving items around to make space. It’s not a high-tech operation by any means. We use old-fashioned ledgers mostly, and the phone is always ringing with someone asking about prices. The dust from the road tends to drift in, so we are constantly wiping things down, though it never stays clean for long. We enjoy being near the bus stand because it feels like we are in the heart of the town. People drop in while they are waiting for their transport just to see what we have. We don't have any scripted sales pitches. If you need steel, we show you what’s in stock and that’s that. It’s an honest way to make a living. The work is heavy and sometimes the weather makes it difficult, but we’ve got a rhythm down now. We just take it one day at a time, serving the local builders and DIY folks who come through our doors without making a big fuss about things. It is just a regular shop.
