Baan Tao

We've been over here on Laxmi Road in Yerwada for a while now. Most days it’s just us getting things ready before the doors open. People come in from the neighborhood, some walking over from nearby offices. We keep the place clean and just focus on what we have to do. It isn’t a very big spot, but it works for us. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when the street traffic picks up outside, but once you’re inside, it’s different. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen or out front checking on tables. The staff knows most of the regulars by name since they stop by so often. We don't really do anything fancy, just the regular work that goes into running a place like this. There’s always something to fix or a floor that needs sweeping, so we stay busy. Yerwada has changed a lot since we started, but we’re still here in the same building. We try to keep things simple and just make sure the food is ready when people want it. It’s a lot of long hours, but that is how it goes. We don't spend much time thinking about being a big business. We’re just Baan Tao, and we’re here on the corner. If you’re walking down Laxmi Road, you’ll see our sign. It's a plain spot where we just do our thing every day without making a big fuss about it. We are just regular people.
