Ayush Variety

We are right here at number 73 in the Kasturi Market area. It’s near Shyamal Cross Road in Chinchwad East. If you know where Mathura Sweet is, we are right there too. It’s a variety store, so we carry a bit of everything. We have stuff for the house, some stationery, and things kids need for school. The market is always a bit chaotic, but that’s Chinchwad for you. We opened up because we saw people had to walk too far for basic things. The shop is small and we have things hanging from the ceiling to save space. Sometimes it’s hard to find what you’re looking for, but I usually know which box it’s in. We don’t have a computer system for inventory, we just look at the shelves. It’s a family-run thing. My brother helps out in the evenings when the crowd from the cross road gets bigger. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket or anything like that. Just a local shop where you can grab a pen or a plastic bucket on your way home. The fan in the back makes a bit of noise, but it keeps us cool during the summer months. We get our stock from different wholesalers and try to keep the prices fair for the neighbors. It’s just daily work, opening up the shutters, cleaning the counter, and waiting for the first customer to walk in.
