Awate Metal Corporation

Our place is in Guruwar Peth, right on the 10th Main Road near Krishna Hatti Chowk. We occupy the ground floor of the Awate Building. It’s a very traditional neighborhood, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. The street outside is usually full of people and vehicles. We deal with various types of metal items. You’ll see stacks of material all over the shop floor. It can look a bit messy to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is. We spend a lot of time weighing things and cutting them to size. It’s noisy work. The ring of metal hitting metal is the soundtrack to our day. We talk to a lot of local contractors and builders who come in looking for specific pieces. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right thing in the back. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. It’s a solid building we’re in. The walls are thick, but you still hear the temple bells from nearby. We don't have a big website or anything like that. People just walk in or call us. It’s a very direct way of doing business. We appreciate the people who come back to us year after year. It’s just how we operate. We keep the doors open and see what the day brings us. It's a steady life.
