Our small office is tucked away in Jai Apartments over in the Shivdarshan area of Parvati. It’s just a regular flat, number ten to be exact, so it doesn't really look like a big corporate place from the outside. We’ve been working as engineers here in Pune for a long time. Mostly we handle technical stuff that people need help with, like checking structures or making sure things are built safely. The Parvati area is nice because it’s a bit quieter than the main city center, though it’s still getting busier every year. We have books and folders all over the place because engineering involves a lot of reading and double-checking numbers. It’s not always exciting work, but it’s important to get it right so nobody gets hurt later on. Usually, it's just a few of us sitting around desks, drinking coffee, and staring at drawings. We don't have a big reception area or anyone to open the door for you. You just come in and we talk about whatever project is on the table. Sometimes we have to go out to the sites to see how the actual construction is going. Pune weather can be a bit much when you're standing out in the sun all day, but that’s part of the job. We've seen a lot of buildings go up around here over the years and it's interesting to see how the neighborhood changes.
