Avishkar

Avishkar is located at Shukrawar Peth 351. This is an old neighborhood with a lot of history, and our building fits right in with the rest of them. It’s a bit cramped inside, but we have managed to fit everything we need into the space. We’ve been at 351 for quite some time now. You can usually find us sitting near the front entrance when it’s quiet, just watching the people walk by in Shukrawar Peth. The shop doesn't have any of those bright neon lights or modern glass fronts. It’s just a regular door and a counter. We handle a variety of things here, mostly just basic stuff that people in the Peth area need on a daily basis. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to get around to it. We are usually too busy dealing with the day-to-day tasks. The floor is made of old stone, and it stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We don't have a big corporate office or a manager in a suit. It’s just us, the people who own it and work it. We know the shopkeepers next door and the families that have lived on this street for generations. It’s a simple existence, and we like being part of the noise and the life of Shukrawar Peth. We keep the doors open late most days.
