Automech

We operate Automech from Sadashiv Peth, near the Khandari Masjid on Rakhial Road. The number is 569/2. It’s a busy spot with a lot of movement all day long. The air is always filled with the smell of food from the nearby stalls and the sound of traffic. Our workspace is more like a garage or a small factory floor. We have machines and tools scattered about. It’s definitely not a place where you’d want to wear a white shirt. There is grease and dust, but that’s part of the job. We do mechanical work, so things are always being taken apart or put back together. The floors are concrete and have some stains from oil. We have a small corner with a desk where we keep the bills and the phone. It’s a bit disorganized, to be honest, but we know where everything is. The guys who work here are good at what they do. We don’t talk much while working. We just listen to the radio and get on with it. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise, but we try to keep it down in the evenings. It’s a tough job but it’s honest work. We’ve been at this location for years, and the people around the Masjid know us well. We don't have any fancy brochures. If someone needs something fixed, they just show up and we see what we can do. Usually, the boss is around to handle the money.
