We have been running things at 28 Shankarsheth Road for a good number of years. We are located quite close to the Vega Centre, so we get a lot of vehicles passing by every day. It’s a tire shop, plain and simple. We have stacks of rubber everywhere you look. The smell of new tires is pretty strong when you first walk in, but we don't even notice it anymore. We spend our days jacking up cars, pulling off old tires, and fitting new ones. It’s physical work and your hands get black from the soot and the rubber by lunchtime. We don't have a waiting room with a TV or anything like that. People usually just stand around or sit on a plastic chair while we finish their wheels. The traffic on Shankarsheth Road is always moving, so we have to be quick so customers can get back on their way. We deal with all sorts of punctures and alignments too. It’s just us and the lug wrenches most of the time. The shop gets a bit messy with all the weights and valves, but we know where everything is. We aren't interested in being a big corporate chain. We just want to make sure the tires are on straight and the bolts are tight. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it at this same spot for ages. It’s reliable work that keeps us busy from morning until evening.
