Running Ashirwad Mobile Stores out here on Chakan Indrayani Nagar Road keeps us pretty busy most days of the week. The shop is small and usually smells like warm electronics because we have so many things plugged in at once. We spend a lot of our time looking through small magnifying glasses at phone motherboards or trying to peel off old cracked screen protectors without making a mess. The road outside is always full of trucks and bikes going towards the factories in Chakan, so there is a constant layer of dust that we have to wipe off the display counters every couple of hours. It is just a few of us here. We don't have a big corporate setup or anything like that. Most of the time we are just sitting behind the glass counter waiting for someone to come in with a broken charging port or a forgotten password. There are stacks of boxes for different phone models piled up in the corner because we never seem to have enough shelf space. Sometimes the internet is slow and it takes forever to download a software update for a customer. We just sit there and talk about the weather or the traffic on Indrayani Nagar Road while we wait. It’s a simple life. We close up around nine and head home. Tomorrow we will come back and do the exact same thing again. It is just how it goes here for us.
