If you’re driving on Pune Nagar Road near Wagholi, you might see us at Ashapuri Metals. We are right opposite the Wagholi Vajankata Panmala. It’s a dusty spot because of all the trucks passing by on the main road, but that’s just part of being in this line of work. We deal with various types of metals, and the weighing bridge across the way is a constant hive of activity. Our yard is usually filled with different metal pieces and scraps that we manage throughout the day. The sun can be quite brutal out here in Wagholi, so we spend a lot of time under the corrugated roof or in the small office area when we can. It’s a very hands-on job; your hands are almost never clean by the end of the shift. We get a lot of truckers stopping by or people from the local industries looking for specific metal items. There isn't much in the way of decoration here, just the tools of the trade and stacks of material waiting to be moved. We just focus on getting the weighing and the loading right so everyone can get back on the road. It’s a simple setup, but it works for what we need to do every day in this busy part of the Pune outskirts. We stay open until the traffic starts to die down in the evenings and the dust finally settles.
