Art Beat Restaurant

We opened Art Beat Restaurant inside the Pitruohhaja Building over on Senapati Bapat Road in Ganeshkhind. It’s a busy part of town, so we get a mix of all sorts of people coming through. The building itself has been around for a while, and we’ve made our home on the ground floor. It’s not a massive dining hall, just a cozy enough spot where we can serve some food. We spend most of our time in the kitchen or wiping down the tables between shifts. The noise from Senapati Bapat Road is always there in the background, but you get used to it after a week. We didn't want anything too corporate or stiff, so the place looks a bit lived-in. There are some scuffs on the walls and the chairs aren't all perfectly matched, but it feels like a real place. My cousin helps me out with the cooking and we have a couple of boys who help with the serving. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people seeing us when they walk past the building. Sometimes we try out new things in the kitchen just to see if they work. If they don’t, we just go back to the basics. It’s a straightforward way to run a restaurant. We’re usually here from lunch until the dinner crowd thins out at night. We just keep the kitchen going and the doors open for whoever walks in to eat.
