Armed Forces Hospital

The dermatology department here at the hospital is a busy corner. We spend our days looking at skin issues of all kinds. It might sound a bit repetitive to some people, but it keeps us on our toes. We see everything from simple heat rashes to things that are a bit more difficult to figure out. The office is tucked away in its own section of the hospital building. It is a lot of white walls and that distinct smell of antiseptic and soap. We try to keep things moving because nobody likes sitting in a waiting room for hours on end. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold and other times it doesn't seem to do much at all. That is just the way this building is, I guess. We have a lot of folders and charts piled up on the counters. It is not exactly a modern-looking office, but we have the tools we need to do the job. People come in worried about a new spot or a persistent itch, and we do what we can for them. The staff gets along well enough. We usually try to eat lunch together in the small breakroom when there is a gap in the schedule. It is a lot of standing and moving from one patient room to the next. By the time the day ends, we are usually ready to head home and sit down. Most of the time, the paperwork is the last thing we finish.
