Arati Fataka Stall

Running Arati Fataka Stall out here in Mulshi is mostly a seasonal thing that keeps us busy when the festivals start coming around. The weather in Mulshi can be a bit unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time making sure everything stays dry under the tarps. It is a simple setup, mostly just wooden tables and the stock we bring in, but it gets the job done. When the holidays are close, the road gets crowded with people driving out from the city and they often pull over to see what we have. I spend most of the day standing on my feet, talking to folks and moving boxes around so the display looks full. Sometimes it gets very dusty because of the wind blowing across the open fields nearby. My hands usually end up covered in gray soot from moving the cardboard cartons back and forth. We don't have a fancy building, just this stall on the side of the road where the locals know they can find us. During the quiet hours, I just sit on a folding chair and watch the cars go by toward the dam. It is honest work and it gets quite tiring after twelve hours of being outside in the sun. We have been doing this for a few years now and most people who live around here recognize the name. It is just a basic spot for the community to get what they need for their celebrations without driving too far.
