Being located in Shukrawar Peth 312 means dealing with narrow streets and a lot of history. Amit Kulkarni isn't a big company with a hundred employees. It’s a much smaller setup than that. The building is older, and you can feel it in the way the floors aren't perfectly level. We have a desk for everyone and a small area where we keep the records. It gets pretty cramped when we have more than a couple of people visiting at once. Usually, the day starts with opening the shutters and letting some air in. The street outside is always full of activity, with vendors and people rushing to the markets. It can be quite a distraction, but we’ve gotten used to the background noise over the years. We don't have any polished speeches or mission statements printed on the walls. We just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of town, so we keep a few candles and a battery backup ready just in case. Most of the furniture we use has been here since the beginning. It’s sturdy and does the job, which is all we really care about. We don't try to look like something we're not. It’s just a local office in a busy part of Pune where we handle our business every day. It works for us, and the people who come here seem to appreciate that we’re straightforward.
