Ambika Supermarket

Running a shop like Ambika Supermarket in Pimpri Nava Bazar keeps us on our feet from the early morning until quite late at night. The Nava Bazar area is always packed with people looking for their daily supplies, and our store at number 4 is right in the middle of all that constant activity. We are definitely not one of those massive, cold malls you see popping up everywhere nowadays. We are just a local grocery spot where people come for their daily bags of rice, pulses, and basic household items. The shelves are usually packed tight because we try to keep a little bit of everything that people might need for their kitchens. It gets especially crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from their jobs and realizes they forgot to buy milk, sugar, or tea leaves. You can hear the sounds of the busy street outside all day long. We know most of the families who live in the surrounding lanes, and we have watched their kids grow up and start shopping for themselves over the years. Sometimes the delivery guys arrive late or the stocks run a bit low, and we just have to manage as best as we can. It is a lot of lifting heavy sacks and marking prices, but it is the life of a local shopkeeper. The floor needs constant sweeping because of the dust coming in from the road, but we do not mind the work.
