Ambika Steels

Ambika Steels is situated at Plot No. 301 in Handewadi. A good landmark for finding us is the Bharat Vajan Kata, which is the big weighbridge nearby. Having that weighbridge so close is actually pretty handy for what we do. The plot is where we keep all the stock. It’s an open kind of setup. We deal with various steel items and it’s usually a bit of a mess with all the different lengths and types of metal lying around. We try to keep it sorted, but it's a constant battle. Handewadi is a growing area, so there is always some construction or something going on around us. We get a lot of local people coming in for small jobs, and then we have the larger loads too. It’s just me and a couple of others most of the time. We don't have a big corporate structure. If you call, you’ll probably just talk to one of us directly. We wear work clothes and we don’t mind getting our hands dirty. The sun can be pretty brutal out on the plot during the summer, so we try to get the heavy work done in the morning. We don’t have any fancy signs or big marketing plans. We just open the gates and get to work. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way. Most folks just drop by when they need something, and we see what we can do.
