Ambika Mutton Shop

Started the shop early today like always. We are right on the Vadsar Main Road in Makarpura, near Mangal Nagar. It gets pretty loud with the trucks going past the GIDC area. The shop is a small place, just enough for the counter and where we do the cutting. We spend most of our time getting the meat ready for people who stop by on their way home to Wakad Road. It is hard work, honestly. My hands get tired from the knife work and being on my feet all day on the concrete floor. We don't have fancy decorations here, just the hooks and the blocks. Sometimes the weather makes it tough when it is too hot, but we keep the fans going. People from around Chinchwad know where we are. We see the same faces every week, mostly guys picking up dinner for their families. We try to keep things clean, scrubbing down the boards every few hours. It is just a regular butcher shop, nothing more to it. We don't do deliveries or anything, you just have to come down to the shop. Some days we run out of stock earlier than others if the supply was low that morning. That is just how it goes in this business. We stay open until the meat is gone or it gets too late to keep the lights on. It’s just us here every day doing the same routine.
