Alka Pan Shop

This shop has been at C B Royal in Koregaon Park for a good number of years. It’s tucked away on Dr Rajkumar Road in the 3rd Block. We open up early and usually stay until the street gets quiet at night. It’s a small space, mostly filled with jars and leaves. We spend a lot of time prepping the betel leaves and keeping everything fresh. It’s mostly just me and my brother running the place. People stop by after their meals at the nearby restaurants or while they are walking their dogs in the evening. We know most of the people around here by their first names or at least what they usually order. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you want something, you just walk up to the window. The shelf is a bit cluttered with different snacks and cigarettes too. We try to keep the counter wiped down, but it gets dusty with the traffic on the road. It’s a simple routine every day. We get the supplies from the wholesale market every few days to make sure nothing sits too long. The 3rd Block is a busy area, so there is always someone passing by. We don't make a big deal out of it, just hand over what people ask for and give them their change. It’s how we’ve always done it.
