Aliya Fabrication

At Aliya Fabrication, we spend our days working with metal and welding machines. The shop is in Hadapsar on Ghanwat Road, right across from Desai Hospital. It is a noisy place because of all the grinding and the sparks flying around, but that is just the nature of the work. We make things like gates, window grills, and other iron stuff that people need for their houses or shops. The floor is always covered in scraps of metal and there is a smell of burnt steel in the air. It is hard work and our clothes usually have a few holes from the sparks. We don't have a big office or anything, just the workspace where we keep all the heavy tools and the welding gear. Most people find us because they are going to the hospital or living nearby in the Hadapsar area. We just take the orders as they come and try to get the welding done right so the pieces stay together. Sometimes we have to work outside when the pieces are too big to fit inside the shop. It gets hot under the tin roof, especially in the summer, but we keep the water jug full and just keep moving. We are not a big company, just some workers who know how to handle a welding torch and a hammer. We have been here for a good bit now and it is just what we do.
