Alankar Mini Market

Alankar Mini Market is located in Sadashiv Peth, right on Thorle Bajirav Peshve Rasta. We are at Shop No.3, which is very close to Nilamay Theater. If you know Pune, you know how busy Sadashiv Peth can get. The roads are narrow and there are always people rushing somewhere. Our shop is small, but we try to make the most of the space. We have things stacked all the way to the ceiling. I often have to use a small ladder to get things down for customers. It is a bit of a workout! We get a lot of students and office people coming in for quick snacks or things they forgot to buy for their homes. I started this place because I like being in the middle of all the action. The noise from the theater crowds can be a lot sometimes, especially on weekends. I usually have the radio playing softly in the background to keep me company. The floor is old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. I don't have any fancy displays, just plain shelves and a wooden counter. It’s an honest way to make a living in Pune. I know most of the regulars by their names and what they usually buy. It’s not a big business, but it’s ours. We just provide the basics for the people living and working around the Peth area.
