Being on Sinhagad Road means there is never a quiet moment. We are right on the corner near Narhe Road 2. Akshay Telecom is just a typical neighborhood shop where people drop in for everything related to their phones. I spend a lot of time putting on screen guards and trying to get all the bubbles out. It’s harder than it looks when the wind is blowing dust in from the street. We sell a lot of chargers because people always seem to lose them or their dogs chew them up. I’ve seen some phones come in here that look like they’ve been run over by a truck. Sometimes I can fix them, sometimes I just have to tell the person it’s gone. We also do recharges for those who don’t like using the apps on their own. It’s a small place, just enough room for a couple of chairs and the glass counters. My brother helps me out in the evenings when the office crowd starts heading home. That’s when it gets really crowded. We talk to the regulars about the local news or the weather while we work. It’s a good spot. I’ve lived in Narhe most of my life, so I know most of the faces that walk through the door. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the shop and the stuff we do every day.
