Akshay Khushal Shah

Our place is in Sadashiv Peth, right on the third floor. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s full of old buildings and narrow lanes that are always packed with two-wheelers. Akshay Khushal Shah is the name on the door, and we’ve been up here for some time now. The walk up to the third floor keeps us fit, since there isn't an elevator in this building. The wooden stairs can be a bit creaky, especially when more than one person is coming up. It’s a typical Peth office with high ceilings and windows that look out over the crowded streets below. It is much quieter once you get inside and shut the door. We've got a small balcony too, though we mostly just use it for a bit of fresh air when the office gets stuffy. We do our work at a couple of wooden desks that have seen better days, but they are solid and do the job. We don't have a big staff or anything, just a few of us handling the daily tasks that come our way. It is a very traditional way of working. We know most of the shopkeepers on the ground floor and the people in the neighboring buildings. Sometimes we go downstairs for a quick snack at one of the local stalls. The office isn't much to look at, but it is where we spend our hours.
