Ajinkya Sales

Ajinkya Sales is at 180 Laxmi Road, right at the City Post Chowk in Budhwar Peth. If you know Pune, you know that Laxmi Road is where everyone goes, so it is always a bit of a mess with traffic and pedestrians. Our shop is near the old post office. It is a narrow place and we have things stacked up high on the shelves because there isn't much floor space. Budhwar Peth is an old part of the city, so the buildings are very close together and the lanes are tight. I have been working here for years and I know most of the other shopkeepers on the block. We don't have a fancy display window or anything like that. People usually know what they are looking for when they walk in. It is often quite loud outside with the horns and people shouting, but inside we just keep busy with the stock. The floor is made of old stone and it has some cracks in it from all the years of moving heavy boxes around. We don't do any big promotions. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to this part of town for decades. It is a bit of a dusty environment because of the old construction and the city traffic, but that is just life on Laxmi Road. We open up in the morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down.
