Abhishek General Stores

Abhishek General Stores has been a part of Vadgaon Sheri for quite a few years now. If you live in this part of town, you've probably walked past us or stopped in for a quick bottle of water or some biscuits. It’s a typical corner shop. We have shelves packed with everything from notebooks to washing powder. It can look a bit messy because we have so much stuff in such a small area. We try to keep it organized, but when new stock arrives, there are boxes everywhere for a few hours. Vadgaon Sheri has grown a lot, and we’ve seen more buildings go up around us. We know most of the families who live in the nearby apartments. They send their kids down to buy milk or eggs in the morning. I’m usually behind the counter from early morning until we shut the shutters at night. My son helps out after his college classes are done. We don't do any big advertising. Word of mouth is how people find us. Sometimes the fan makes a squeaking noise that we need to fix, and the light in the back flickers a bit. It’s just a normal shop run by normal people. We don't have any big corporate goals, we just want to be there when someone realizes they forgot to buy sugar for their tea. That's really all there is to it.
