If you ever find yourself walking down Lane 23 in Shivneri Nagar, you’ll probably find us working away. We are situated in Sno57, right near the Ideal Bakery, which is a bit of a local landmark in this part of Kondhwa Khurd. Abhishek Catering isn’t a huge company with fancy suits; it’s just a group of people who know their way around a kitchen. The morning starts with the sound of knives on cutting boards and the smell of the bakery next door mixing with our own spices. It’s a crowded area, and the lanes can get tight, especially when we’re trying to load up the vans. We’ve been at this for a while, and the neighbors know us by now. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic with everyone moving around, but we have our rhythm. We don’t really believe in big marketing budgets or anything like that. We just focus on getting the orders ready on time. There have been days when the electricity goes out or we run short on an ingredient, and we have to scramble to fix it, but that’s just life in a busy kitchen. It’s hard work, and the heat can be something else during the summer months. But we keep the stoves burning and the pots simmering because that’s what we do here in Kondhwa. We’re just local people making food for other local people without making it too complicated.
