Aakash Watch is at number 3, right near Swastik Steels in the Paramhans Nagar part of Chinchwad. Most people find us by looking for the steel shop first because their sign is much bigger than ours. We have a small storefront that is packed with different watches and tools. Being in Paramhans Nagar is good because it’s a neighborhood where people actually know each other. I usually open up the shop in the morning after having a tea at the stall nearby. The shop is cozy, maybe even a bit cramped if more than two customers come in at once. We handle all sorts of repairs here, from simple digital watches to the old ones that people inherit from their grandfathers. It’s quiet work, mostly. I spend a lot of time hunched over a workbench with small screwdrivers. Sometimes the parts are so tiny I have to hold my breath just to put them in place. Chinchwad is quite industrial, so we get a lot of workers dropping off their watches because they get banged up on the job. We don't have any high-tech machines, just the old-fashioned tools that have worked for years. If you come by, you might see me cleaning the display cases or just reorganizing the drawers. It is a simple business. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just stay here at shop number 3 and wait for the next watch that needs fixing.
