Aaijee Electronic & Mobile Shopee is situated in Thathawade, right on the Juma Masjid Road. It is a handy location because the masjid is a major point that everyone knows, so it makes giving directions much easier. We deal with electronics and mobile phones, mostly doing repairs or selling smaller gadgets that people use every day. The shop isn't very large, but we’ve packed a lot of stuff into the glass counters. On Fridays, it gets especially busy around here because of the prayers at the mosque, and the street fills up with people. We usually have a radio playing in the background while we work on circuit boards or screen replacements. It is a detailed kind of work that requires some patience and a steady hand. We aren't part of any big chain; it is just a local business that we’ve built up ourselves. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by on Juma Masjid Road, while other days we have a pile of phones waiting to be fixed. We try to be honest about how long a repair will take, even if it’s not what the customer wants to hear. It’s better that way. The lights in our display case sometimes flicker, and we keep meaning to fix them, but we usually end up being too busy with someone else's electronics to get to our own. That is just how it goes when you are running your own small place.
