We are tucked away at 14/2 Bhosari 3rd Cross in Gurusarvabhauma Nagar. Bhosari is an area where people actually work with their hands, and we fit right in. The 3rd Cross is a bit narrow, so when a big truck comes through, everyone has to move their bikes out of the way. Our engineering workshop is full of metal scraps and old drawings. We’ve been here for a while, and the floor is stained with oil that won’t ever come out no matter how much we scrub. It’s a practical space. We don’t have fancy signs or a big lobby. Usually, you’ll find one of us under a machine or hunched over a workbench with a flashlight. The sound of grinding or drilling is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. Gurusarvabhauma Nagar is a busy neighborhood with a lot of small shops like ours. We share tea with the guys next door sometimes when things get slow. It’s the kind of place where you know the postman and the guy who sells snacks on the corner. We focus on the engineering side of things, making parts and fixing what’s broken. It gets hot in the summer, but we just open the big shutters and keep at it. Sometimes the power goes out, and we all just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s not a corporate life, but it’s ours.
