A K Shapewell Works

Our workshop is tucked away in the Bhosari Raskar Industrial Estate, right at 15/7. It’s near Anand Nagar, so it’s easy enough to find if you know the area. We’ve been doing this kind of work for a long time. A K Shapewell Works is basically just us doing metal shaping and some fabrication. It gets quite hot in the summer, but we have some old fans going to keep the air moving. The floor is concrete and we’ve got racks of materials lined up against the walls. We don't have any flashy signs or anything like that. Most of our work is for other local businesses that need specific parts made. We try to be careful with the details because that’s what matters in this line of work. Sometimes a piece doesn't come out exactly right the first time and we have to start over. That’s just how it goes. We don’t mind. It’s better to get it right than to send out something we aren't sure about. The neighborhood is mostly other small shops like ours. You can hear the sounds of welding and grinding all day long. We usually take our tea break around the same time every afternoon. It’s a simple routine. We aren't trying to change the world, just making sure the orders are ready when they need to be. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough. The space is a bit cramped now with the gear, but we make it work.
