A 1 Furniture

Our place, A 1 Furniture, is tucked away in Sadashiv Peth near Shani Park. It’s actually 1103 on the street. We’re close to Behram Baug and Link Road too. The shop has been here for a bit. It’s filled with all sorts of pieces we’ve collected or made over time. It’s not a polished showroom like the ones you see in the big malls. It’s a bit crowded in here sometimes because furniture takes up so much room. We often have to move three chairs just to get to one table. That’s just how it is when you’re working in a space like this. Nawa Vishnu Chowk is right nearby, so we get a bit of foot traffic from that direction. I spend a lot of time checking the wood and making sure things are sturdy enough for use. People come in looking for something specific, and sometimes we have it, sometimes we don't. It’s a practical business. We don't use any big words to describe it. It's just furniture. The workshop area gets a bit messy with sawdust and tools lying around on the benches. I try to keep it organized but it’s a constant battle when you are busy. We like being in this part of town. It feels like a real community and the people are generally nice. Most of our neighbors know us by now. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a steady life and it keeps us occupied throughout the week.
