Vaasavi International School

Vaasavi International School is situated on M G Road in the Muthialpet area of Pondicherry. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside our doors. The building is quite traditional, and we’ve tried to keep it in good shape over the years. We aren't one of those schools with a massive campus and five swimming pools. We are a neighborhood school where most of the kids walk or take a short rickshaw ride to get here. The classrooms are filled with the usual stuff—posters on the walls, stacks of paper, and plenty of desks. Our teachers are local people who care about the community. We don't use a lot of marketing jargon to describe what we do. We just follow the schedule and try to get through the curriculum. Sometimes we have events in the small courtyard, which gets quite crowded when all the parents show up. We have to deal with the usual city problems like traffic and humidity. The office is a bit small and always has people coming and going. We keep our records in big ledgers and on an old computer that sometimes acts up. It’s a simple operation. We focus on the day-to-day tasks of running a school. There’s no big mystery to it. We just show up every morning, open the gates, and get to work teaching the students who come through our doors.
