Aadhara School

Aadhara School is tucked away at No 6 Plot No 157 on Manakula Vinayaga Street in the Lawspet area of Pondicherry. Lawspet is a relatively quiet neighborhood, and our street is mostly residential, so the school fits in quite well with the surroundings. We have a modest setup here that works for the families living nearby who want a school that is close to home. The building itself is not very large, but we have managed to fit in enough classrooms and a small area for the kids to play. Being in Pondicherry, we deal with the coastal weather, which means it can get quite warm in the afternoons, so we have fans going in every room. The teachers are mostly local people who have been with us for a few years and know the students by name. It is the kind of place where you hear the sounds of children reciting their lessons or singing songs throughout the morning. We don’t have big fancy sports fields, but we make do with the space we have for physical activities. The gate is right on Manakula Vinayaga Street, and things get a bit hectic during drop-off and pick-up times when parents arrive on their scooters. It is a simple, local school where the focus is on the basics of education. We try to keep things organized, even if it gets a bit chaotic when it rains or during the annual function rehearsals.
