Nehru College Of Education is right by the Indira Gandhi Statue in Natesan Nagar, Villianur. If you know Pondicherry 605001, you know that’s a pretty recognizable landmark. We are at No 31, and we’ve been part of this community for quite some time. It’s a college for people who want to teach, so the atmosphere is usually full of folks talking about lesson plans or how to handle a classroom of kids. We aren’t a huge university with thousands of acres; we’re more of a local institution where everyone kind of knows each other after a few weeks. The building is a bit older, which gives it some character, I suppose. It’s got that Pondicherry feel to it. Students come here from all over Villianur and the surrounding areas. We keep things pretty simple—no big speeches or glossy brochures. We just show up, do the work, and help the students get their certifications. During the lunch hours, it can get a bit loud with everyone chatting near the statue, but that’s just part of being in this part of town. It’s a practical place for people who have a clear goal in mind. We just provide the space and the teachers to help them get there. It’s our small corner of Natesan Nagar, and we’re used to the daily routine here. We just try to keep the classrooms ready and the coffee pot going for the staff.
