Weddings are a big deal in Uttar Pradesh and we stay very busy during the season. It’s not a glamorous job behind the scenes even though the events look great when they are finished. We spend a lot of time on the phone and dealing with vendors who are often late. The office is often full of samples like fabrics and flower charts. It can get a bit chaotic when there are three weddings happening in one weekend but we’ve learned how to stay calm under pressure. We aren't a high-end luxury firm with fancy suits. Most of the time we are just in regular clothes getting our hands dirty setting up stages or arranging seating for guests. Allahabad has its own way of doing things and we try to respect the local traditions. Sometimes the power goes out or the roads are blocked for a festival but we always find a way to make it work. We've been in the Chaka Naini area for a while and people around here know us by name. It’s hard work and the hours are long but seeing a family happy at the end of the day makes it okay. We just take it one event at a time and try not to get too stressed out about things.
