Planet Andaman

We've been here at Middle Point on MG Road for a while now. It started as a small idea because we live here and know the islands inside out. People come to Planet Andaman looking for help with their trips. We mostly just talk to them about where to go and what's worth seeing. It’s not a huge office, just a spot where we keep our files and meet folks. Sometimes the phones ring too much, but we try to answer everyone. We handle bookings for boats and hotels around the islands. Most of our day is spent making sure the drivers are on time and the plans actually happen. It’s busy work, especially when the weather changes. We don't have fancy brochures with fake pictures. Everything we suggest is just stuff we’ve seen ourselves. If a beach is too crowded, we’ll probably tell you. That’s just how we do things here. Usually, someone is in the office by nine, but we might stay late if a ferry gets delayed. Living in Andaman is great, and helping others see it is just what we do for a living. We aren't some big chain from the mainland. We are just local people working here on MG Road, trying to make sure travelers don't get lost or frustrated. It gets humid in the afternoon, so we drink a lot of tea while we work through the schedules and check the tide charts for the boat guys.
