Andaman Evergreen Tours Travels is right near the post office in Bathu Basthi. It’s a busy little spot in the morning when everyone is heading out. We’ve been set up here for quite some time now. Being near the post office makes it easy for people to find us. We deal with all kinds of travel requests, mostly for people who want to see the greenery and the beaches of the islands. It’s not always easy running a travel business here because the weather changes so fast. One minute it's sunny and the next it's a downpour. We spend a lot of time on the phone making sure the drivers are where they need to be. Bathu Basthi is a good place to be based because it's close to a lot of things. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few people who are good at solving problems. If a flight is late or a ferry is cancelled, we have to scramble to fix it. We don't use big words or make huge promises. We just try to get the job done so people can enjoy their time off. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls, but we’re used to it. People stop by the office just to chat sometimes while they are at the post office. We like being part of the local neighborhood. It keeps us on our toes.
