Our office is at 57 M A Road over in Phoenix Bay. We are quite close to the Masjid, so we hear the calls to prayer throughout the day while we work. Phoenix Bay is where a lot of the activity happens because of the jetty being right there. We spend a lot of our time going back and forth between the office and the harbor. It’s a small space, mostly just desks and a couple of chairs for people who stop by. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity. It’s mostly just a few of us who know the local routes and the drivers. Usually, the morning is the most hectic time because that’s when everyone is trying to catch the early ferries to Havelock or Neil. We sit here and coordinate with the guys on the ground. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, which is just part of living in Port Blair. We handle the bookings for rooms and cars without making much of a fuss about it. There’s a lot of paperwork involved with the permits and the tickets, so we spend a lot of time double-checking names and dates. It’s practical work. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and people in the neighborhood know us. If someone needs a vehicle for a trip, they usually just give us a call or drop in. We just keep things moving as best as we can.
