Dragon Boats & Tour Operators is based out of Phoenix Bay in Port Blair. Being right there in the 744101 area near the water makes sense for us. The name Dragon Boats sounds a bit fancy, but we’re actually just a straightforward local outfit. We spend a lot of time down at the docks or in our small office in Phoenix Bay. It’s a busy place with all the boats coming and going, and we’re right in the middle of it. We don't have a corporate style or a big team of sales people. It’s just us handling the tour operations day by day. Sometimes the salt air gets to the equipment, and we’re always fixing something or painting a sign. We didn't start this to become some huge company; we just liked being on the water and helping people see the islands. The weather dictates everything we do. If the sea is rough, we have to change everything at the last minute. It can be stressful, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We don't have a polished pitch for why people should use us. We just show up, do the work, and try to be honest about what’s possible. Phoenix Bay is our home base, and we’ve been part of the community here for a long time. It’s a rugged kind of job, but it suits us just fine.
