Vashudhaya Engicon is located at Ashok Prasad’s house in Jaitipur. We are in the Panchhasni area of Nagarnausa, which is in the Nalanda district. It is a very local operation. We don't have a big sign out front or anything like that. Most people in the area just know that this is where we do our business from. We focus on engineering and construction projects around Nalanda. The work is mostly practical and involves a lot of time spent out in the fields or on dusty roads. We hire people from the surrounding villages because they know the land and they are hard workers. Sometimes the weather makes it difficult to get much done, especially when the monsoon rains start and everything turns to mud. But we do what we can. We aren't looking to expand into some big corporation. We are happy just working on the projects we have and making sure they get finished. Our office is just a room in the house where we keep the computer and the ledgers. It’s a quiet life for the most part, until a big project starts up and then everything gets very hectic. We take things one day at a time and try to stay on top of the work that needs doing. It’s not perfect, but it is our way of making a living in this part of Bihar.
