Usha Martin World School

We’ve been running Usha Martin World School at Sohgi More in Gulzarbagh for a while now. Patna is a busy place, and our corner of it is no different. The school is a big building that sees a lot of action from Monday to Saturday. Kids come in every morning with their heavy bags and a lot of energy. We deal with the daily noise and the rows of books every single day. Being in Patna, the weather gets really hot, so we do what we can with the fans and the shade. We have teachers who live nearby and some who travel a bit to get here. It’s a pretty regular school day most of the time. We try to keep things organized but anyone who works with hundreds of students knows how it really goes. The playground gets dusty during the dry months, and we watch the kids grow up from small children to teenagers right before our eyes. It’s a lot of work for everyone involved. The school is just a part of the community here in Gulzarbagh. Parents drop their kids off on scooters or in cars, and there’s always a bit of a crowd at the gate. We have normal classrooms and wooden desks. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just keep going with the windows open. It’s not a fancy place, just a building for learning. We’ve been at this address for years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around us.
