Tathagat Children'S School

Our school is in the Rameshwaram Bhawan building in Kurthoul, which is part of the Punpun area in Patna. It's a bit out from the main city center, so it’s slightly quieter, though the road still gets busy with local traffic. The building is basically a large house that we’ve converted for school use over time. It has a bit of a homey feel because of the way the rooms are laid out. We have different rooms for the different age groups, so everyone has their own spot. It’s not a corporate setup by any means. We just have what we need to teach the kids every day. The floors are stone and the walls are a bit plain with just a few charts hung up. We have a small courtyard where everyone gathers in the morning before class starts. Being in Patna, we deal with the heat and the dust like everyone else in the city. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to open the windows wider to let the breeze in. We are just a group of people from the neighborhood working together to keep the place going. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. We just talk to the parents when they come by at the gate. Most of our students live within walking distance or a short rickshaw ride. It’s a basic, honest place to learn. We keep things going one day at a time, making sure the kids are doing their work. There is always a bit of tea brewing in the back room.
