Supriyam Construction Private Limited is tucked away near the Patanjali shop on Gola Road. It’s run by Chandan Kumar and a few other folks who know a bit about building. Gola Road is always busy, so there’s a lot of noise and movement around us all the time. We didn't set this up to be a big corporate entity; we just wanted a way to work on construction projects in the neighborhood. Most of our days are spent checking on different sites or trying to track down where a delivery of gravel went. It’s not always organized perfectly, but we get the work done. Building things takes a lot of patience and dealing with a lot of different people. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just look at the land, see what the customer wants, and start digging. Sometimes we hit a snag with the local utilities or the weather ruins a fresh pour of cement, which is frustrating but expected. We are just local people trying to make a living by putting up buildings. Our office is small and usually has blueprints spread out everywhere. We don't have a mission statement or a slogan. We just show up, do the work, and hope the rain stays away long enough for the roof to go on. That is pretty much our daily life here, and we wouldn't have it any other way right now. It is hard work but we are used to it.
