Subhankara Design And Construction Private Limited operates out of Punam Devi’s place in Nehru Nagar. It’s right there in the Patliputra Colony area, which is a good central spot for us to get around Patna. We focus on both the designing side of things and the actual physical construction. It’s a lot of back and forth between the drawing board and the dusty construction sites. We don't have a corporate office with glass walls; it’s more of a home-style setup where we can actually think and work. The colony is usually busy, so there’s always something going on outside our windows. We take our work seriously, even if we don’t wear suits and ties every day. Mostly, it’s about making sure the measurements are right and the materials are solid. We have a few regular guys who work with us on every project. It’s a small team, so we all end up doing a bit of everything. If a pipe leaks or a wall isn't straight, we're the ones who have to hear about it and fix it. We don't make big promises, we just try to get the design to match what’s being built. It’s a lot of coordination with different people, from the architect to the guy hauling the sand. It keeps us occupied from morning until late evening most days.
