Shugandha Beauty Parlour

Shugandha Beauty Parlour is located in Gardanibagh in Patna, very close to Shanti Path. It’s a quiet residential area compared to the main city center. The shop is basically a small room we converted into a parlour. It feels more like a home than a business sometimes. We have the usual stuff like a wash basin, a couple of chairs, and some cupboards full of lotions and hair clips. People around here know us by name. We don’t have a big sign outside, just a small board. A lot of our work comes from wedding seasons when everyone wants their hair done or needs some help with their sarees. On normal days, it’s just the usual neighborhood ladies coming in for a trim. We talk about our families and the local news while I work. The floor is tiled but it’s a bit old now. Sometimes the water pressure is low, so we keep buckets filled just in case. It’s a simple life here in Patna. I like being near Shanti Path because it’s a nice walk for the customers. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a little when it’s on high. It’s just a small local place where we try to do a decent job every day without any fuss or complicated rules. People just drop in whenever they are free.
