Our office is on the first floor near the Shiv Mandir, right by the Khadi Bhandar Bhawan in Muzaffarpur. Rakesh Ranjan’s place is easy to find because of the temple nearby. We do buildtech work, which mostly means we spend our time dealing with the practical side of construction in the city. Muzaffarpur is a crowded place and working on Ward No. 47 means dealing with a lot of traffic and tight spaces. We are usually out on the road near the main Khadi Bhandar area, making sure the supplies are arriving on time. It is a lot of coordination and sometimes it’s a real headache. We have a crew that doesn't mind getting their hands dirty, which is good because there is plenty of mud and dust to go around. We aren't big on corporate meetings or mission statements. We just want to get the bricks laid and the concrete set before the weather turns. Sometimes we sit at the office and talk to people who wander in after visiting the temple. It’s a very local way of doing things. We know the shopkeepers and the residents around House No 116. We just do the daily grind of building and fixing, trying to keep things moving forward one day at a time without any big fuss. It is hard work but it is what we know how to do best.
