Master Chandan Hair Cutting Salon

Our shop, Master Chandan Hair Cutting Salon, is situated on Boring Road in Patna, right near the Smyle Care Dental Center. It is a very active part of town, so we see all kinds of people walking by the door throughout the day. We usually start the morning by cleaning the mirrors and setting out the tools on the marble counter. The counter has a few chips and cracks in it, but it holds everything we need just fine. We have those old-fashioned spray bottles that you have to pump a few times to get a good mist of water. The chairs are quite comfortable, even if the fabric is a bit worn out on the edges and the stuffing is showing through in one spot. We keep a stack of old magazines on a plastic chair for anyone waiting. The radio stays on a local station, playing a mix of movie songs and talk. Boring Road can be quite loud with the traffic and the horns, so we often have to speak up when talking to the customers. We use a fresh blade for every shave and keep the used ones in a metal box under the counter. The floor gets covered in hair pretty quickly, and we use a short broom to push it into the corner every hour or so. It isn't a huge place, but it's where we spend most of our time. We know the neighbors, like the people at the dental center, and see the same faces every month.
