Gyan Niketan School

Down here on Ranjan Path, off Gola Road in Danapur Bazar, you'll find our school. It is right in the middle of a very busy part of Patna, so there is always something going on outside the gates. The morning starts with the sound of rickshaws and parents dropping off their kids before heading to work. We have been in this spot for quite some time, and the building shows its age in a few places, but it works for what we need. Inside, the rooms are filled with desks and those big green boards we use for writing lessons. During the lunch break, the courtyard gets quite noisy with everyone running around or sitting in groups to eat. It can be a bit chaotic at times, but that is just how a school feels. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. The teachers stay busy with their registers and grading papers in the staff room between classes. Most of the families living around Danapur know us because their kids have been coming here for years. We deal with the usual stuff like leaky taps or broken fans, but someone usually gets around to fixing them eventually. It is a practical place where children spend their day studying and waiting for the final bell so they can head home through the market. We just keep things moving along one day at a time.
